The neighbourhood of Los Coronales is located northeast of Madrid and it is of recent creation. Due to the exponential growth of housing-construction during the 90s and at the beginning of this century, the neighborhood rapidly consolidated its urban fabric and a large demand for equipment and commercial malls arose. The new mall was to be located on a square-shaped site with rounded corners and which makes up the entire block (3,241 m2).

The studio carefully studied factors that are important to the design of a mall, such as circulations meters of shopping windows as well as the harmonic use of materials and colors, the use of energy-saving systems (passive and active), indirect artificial lighting, or the generous intake of natural light. It was important to provide adequate natural lighting for the central space in order to guarantee a comfortable environment for the user, while simultaneously saving a considerable amount of energy.

The building consists of two basement floors for parking, a semibasement with a supermarket and a loading bay, and three floors above ground level assigned for shops, restaurants and offices.
